Best in Show #5 and #5

Well we had a spectacular weekend last weekend as our last weekend before the holidays and end of the year throughout the World.

First, Polo, Ch. Arabella's Voyager has been doing well, he got both his CAC in Austria and needs one more for the Austria Championship, and he got another CAC towards his KFT/German championship in Germany last weekend and Best of Opposite Sex. Thank you Mirko and Martina for taking care of my boy and making my dreams come true for him.

Now, on to our big news!! Eric Sote was invited to judge Best in Show from Australia and he chose Ch. Beameups Solid Gold for the Best in Show, he also bestowed Best in Show upon us with Land Rose JP All Right, aka Max, whom also got Best Puppy in Show! I was also Reserve King with Eric the Airedale, so greedy we were!

It was BIS number 5 for Goldie, the judge really loved her so much.

The following day Goldie was Group 2 at the Tokyo FCI, but her fans still cheered for her! Max was Puppy King and Res.BPIS!!! This was his final win for his PUppy Korea, he won a total of 5 Best in Shows as a youngster, not bad!!!

Polo

Oh, and I almost forgot, Polo got his 3rd Austria ticket in Wels, he needs one more for the Austrian Champion Title, and he got the upgraded CACIB as well for his Int. Title, he needs 2 more tickets there as well, Thank you Martina and Mirko for keeping him and allowing him to finish this titles. I miss my son! :-)

Kawagoe Rengoten

We went to the Kawagoe Rengoten on Sunday and Goldie was Group 1st. Max was Group 1 puppy and Best Puppy in Show. Goldie showed awesome, she hasn't shown this well in a while, she was so happy and pulling around the ring, she loves to show still. I just wish she could have got something but now the politics for the shows are so bad at the moment. Always the same dogs are winning and all because of who owns them or how much money, but this is the same all over the world, so I continue to fight with Goldie to win as much as we can. I am still so proud that a wheaten Scottish Terrier could win so much in this country and honestly, I hope that her owners are as proud as I am and I'm so glad to be a part of her career and that they have trusted me and given me this opportunity to share in her success. This past weekend everyone told me she is looking really good now and that she should have a good chance, I wish they were the judge! :-) Mr. and Mrs. Nakahara are very happy about Max, I am happy to exhibit him, he will be fun for the future. Thank you Mari for these fast samples, I also have Goldie's Best in Show Photo from Elaine Young. I'm finding that most foreign judges like her, especially from the states, some Australian judges like her but sometimes I think her type is too different for them. :-)

Sorry, we've been busy!

We came back from the World Show and kept running as usual. The Scottish Terrier Japan Specialty was on the 23rd and Vandra Huber came to judge, along with husband Mike and junior Shannon. We saw the sites and went to the show. I was happy, Polo's son, Sarahjoy JP Sukekiyo, aka Baltic was Winners Dog and AOM, he is out of my breeding of Polo and Cookie and they are about 14 months old now. Goldie has been doing very well, she got a Reserve Queen on the 15th of Nov, and two Group 1's the following days at the Kyushu FCI. Just last weekend she was Group 1 at the Osaka FCI, one of the biggest shows of the year so this was a nicer result then last year. We've got two more weekends of shows and then we are taking some time off for the holidays. Max has been doing good too, he also got another Reserve Puppy King on the 17th of November, last weekend in Osaka he was Puppy Group 2, we let the Yorkie win, Max needs to learn how to slow down and walk on all fours. He's got so much heart and energy that he forgets that he's supposed to move. :-) I'll post pictures of Goldie when I have them ready.

So much news....too busy!

Okay, let me start with the old news.

Goldie, Ch. Beameups Solid Gold got her 4th Best in Show on November 5th, under USA Judge Elaine Young, on the same day, Max, Land Rose JP All Right, was also Best Puppy in Show!!! What a day!

Then we went to the World Dog Show 2006 in Poland where we took Polo to stay with Martina his breeder. Polo was 2nd with Excellent rating out of the Open Class of 24 males, I was very happy with this result! I also helped show KJ, my old friend Ch. Arabella's Zabadak whom was 4th out of a huge champion class. Martina got BOB with Lizzy, Ch. Scotguard Feliz Navidad so we had a lot of celebrating to do. I flew to Germany and stayed nearby with my mom and we drove to Poland together with Martina and Mirko and I got to see so many friends. Charla Hill was there too with Martina so it was a nice time. Polo is now in Germany and will stay there to finish his titles with Martina, good luck Polo, I'm sure you will do fine and come home soon!

We were BEST OF BREED AT MONTGOMERY!

I'm still in New York, visiting my grandma.

I came to the states for our Scottish Terrier national. I met with my mom who brought Marko, Ch. Perhaps Sugardaddy who had been in the care and trimming of Bergit Kabel. The first few shows, Marko made the cut, on Sunday at the national Specialty, Marko took Best of Breed under judge Ruth Prehn.

I'm still in shock. His daughter, Afterglow's Hellz Bellz, Belle also won the bred by class at Hatboro the first day, 3rd thenext, 2nd at Devon, and 4th at the national out of a huge class handled by our junior Marla Inman. :-)

Here is some photos that others took and us too.

Niigata Show Results

Goldie was successful, she was Reserve Queen both days, as well as the Rengoten show. I had a lot of fun this show, I helped Hiroshi a lot, he was really busy. I love working with the dogs and training so I did some of this for him. We're gearing up for Saitama, loading up the Airedales and Goldie and off we'll go.

Okay, so I've been busy

Its been a busy past couple of weeks, grooming, working, going to school!!! Uuguhh....

Back on the 9th, Chisato and I packed up for our last trip to Hokkaido for the year. Goldie Group 1 and Reserve Queen, Eric the Airedale was Group 2.

This past weekend we went to Yokohama for a 2 shows in one day event again, the first show it was a bit warm, Goldie was hot, she got Excellent in the Group, but by the second show, she got her wind back and it was cool and raining, she loves the rain! She perked right up and got Reserve Queen!

My new baby Max, whom I'm waiting for a good picture, got Best Baby in Show Again! This is two in a row.

On Sunday we went to a small show up the road closer to my house in Fukushima, Goldie got Reserve Queen again and Max was Reserve Baby King! It was a good weekend. We're gearing up to go to Niigata this weekend, 2 shows, Saturday and Sunday. Will keep you posted.

Photos are in!

Wow, we got a new photographer, he took the photos of Eric when we won the BIS at Sendai last time and he had the photos on display at the show. I was pretty proud! Well he took the photos again and took an excellent photo of Goldie on the final day.

Here it is!

Sendai Show Results

We had a really good weekend, I managed to pack 2 Airedales, 2 Scotties into my van, and traveled the short 4 hours away.....it was a relaxing drive for a change, the 8 and 9 hours drives really wear you down. Anyhow, we had 2 shows in one day the first day, Goldie got Reserve Queen the first show and Queen the second show, and then on Sunday at the bigger show, she was Reserve Queen! Chisato did awesome too, her bitch out of a short break since Asia took 2 Excellents, and Eric won the Group on Sunday! My adopted son is doing so well. :-)

I got my Bagpiper, can't wait to sit down and actually read it, I was surprised at the amount of articles, and such less pictures.....:-) Goldie's were in there, they came out pretty good, considering we're trying to stay on a budget. :-)

Until next time, we're going to Hokkaido this next weekend.

Shizuoka Dog Show Results

Hello, we returned from Shizuoka and can't complain much. The first day, Max, Land Rose JP All Right made his debut in the baby class at just over 4 months old!!! He got a huge trophy and two big ribbons.

And for Goldie, Goldie received the Reserve Best in Show and Queen Title, she is on a roll! :-) This is her 3rd Queen and Reserve Best in Show in two months along with several Reserve Queens. I am so proud and excited over her success.

As of June 30th, she is ranked #1 Terrier in Japan and of course #1 Scottish Terrier with over 1,500 All Breed points and still counting....Congrats mom for breeding such a beautiful bitch!

Hiroshi had a good weekend, he got Queen with Donna the Cairn Terrier on Saturday, and Leo was Reserve King, and then on Sunday Leo and Goldie challenged the BIS together as Hiroshi and I seem to like to do, and this time Leo was Best in Show, I was so happy for Hiroshi and Leo, thanks to Chisato and Jumpei on their excellent preparation Leo looked like the BIS dog that he is. I think he will win a lot more from now on!

Until next time,

Bergit has come and gone!

Bergit came to do her seminar and it was so good to see her. Polo and Eric the Westy were her model dogs and Polo did so well. Bergit complimented his trimming and said I was doing fine. She got to see Max and liked him so I was a bit relieved. Mari took some photos so once I get them up, I'll post a few. I did however get some pictures from the juniors (The Inman kids) from Mom Lisa. Milady (pictured with Bergit) finished her championship after Marla's long hard work on the grooming and Bergit's touch ups. We've got a little break, there aren't any dog shows until the 26 and 27th. We went to Tokyo after the seminar, me and my husband and stayed in Shinagawa. The weather went bad so we stayed in the area, ate TGIFs and went to the Epson Aqua Stadium which was inside the hotel and watched a dolphin show and saw the sealions. There were tons of fish too!

G7 Seminar

Last Sunday Chisato and I went to hot HOT HOT HOT Hokkaido, it was about 31 Celsius and the show ground was on SAND!!! It was so hot, poor Eric the Airedale was dying, we had him wrapped in cool towels but it was so bad. He was able to get Excellent Group and Goldie as well. We didn't push the dogs to their potential as it was a small show and not worth pushing them, Goldie showed well even still but I kept her back in the shade.

We are getting ready tomorrow to drive to Fuji Yoshida City where we are staying. I talked to Hiroshi and Bergit had just arrived, I spoke to her on the cell phone, she said the flight was good and they are going to a hotel and will rest, she was amazed at how big it was! :-) I can't wait to see her again, she is such a wonderful person.

For those that are attending the seminar, see you on Thursday! :-)

Cookie got a pet clip!

Cookie got a pet clip today! She has never been shaved before but I can not strip anymore, there is no time and she has been hot. She actually looks really pretty and I can see the real body, she seems to like it. She is sleeping a lot now, her 4th birthday is coming this Friday. I am hoping she is pregnant, we did another mating to Polo and hope for a repeat litter like her last, she produced some nice things. Max is getting big! :-)

We're getting ready for Hokkaido this weekend, we have a show on Sunday, Chisato will come along with me, and I'm so glad, I enjoy her company and we can talk about the dogs.

Hi,

Just returned from vacation in Tokyo with my husband. I have some news and results from the shows the week before and this past weekend.

Polo - Hokkaido on 23 July - Excellent in Group and NEW CHAMPION! Now he is retired from Japan show ring and will relax for a while.

Goldie - 29 July - There were two shows in Morioka, she was Excellent in Group at the first show in the rain, and then she was Queen under Mr. Kimura the second show!

30 July - She went to Hirosaki and was Excellent in the Group. Thank you Chisato, Shige, and Junko for helping me out so much!

Not much else at the moment, catching up on school work and keeping the dogs groomed up.

P.S. Here is a picture of the new baby, Max, Land Rose JP All Right! He is my husband's new puppy, he got to name him.

Morioka Show Results

This past weekend, Goldie was Reserve Queen under Judge Mr. Uryu. It was a bit hot so I had to keep her cool but she held up and showed wonderfully. Chisato showed Eric the Airedale and he got Excellent Group in the males out of a pretty large group.

Hokkaido Weekend Results!

Here's the report for the past weekend. Chisato and I took the ferry from Hachinohe to Tomakomai in the Hokkaido Island. It was a 9 hour trip but easier then driving I think. I got a little sick on the way up, I had Taco Bell, big mistake. :-)

So we went to the Hokkaido regular dog show on Saturday where the MCC cards were given out. Polo was Excellent in Group and got the MCC card, and Goldie was Reserve Queen!!!

On Sunday, I only showed Goldie and she was Group 1 and Reserve Best in Show Queen! Chisato showed Eric the Airedale and he won the Group 1st for the males! :-) I was so happy for Chisato, this is her second Group 1 this year with him!

I'm excited, for this week I'm will be getting a small surprise!

Reserve Queen and BIS!

We went to show in Yamagata on Saturday, Polo was in hopes of a CC card for his championship, and we had big hopes for Goldie. But this time, judge was liking Polo, and Polo was Best in Show and Goldie Reserve Queen, although this judge loved Goldie so much and I think wanted to give her the Queen but for reasons could not give. I could not believe Polo was winning like this again, it was almost a year since he was winning last Best in Show and never shown again because I wanted Goldie to win. I am very happy, but humble, Polo needs just two more CC's and JKC Ch is finished, then he can relax. Now it is made easier because American champions may show in the small shows.

As soon as I receive pictures, I will post!

Group 1 and a New Champion! Nagano FCI Results!

Polo is now the proud Sire of two Japanese champions, his second finished this weekend at the Nagano FCI Show with a Winners Bitch and Major CC. New JKC Ch. Brotherhood JP Lil' Devil, aka Becky finished and RCACIB as well. BOB on the male side was Int.CH. Orthopaedic JP The Dignified One, "Daniel", Goldie's counterpart and he went on to Group 3.

Goldie was BOB and went on to a crowded Group 1 finish under Judge Mori-san. He has given her a Group 1st before, but almost a year ago. Here is a picture to share that was taken by GoodLuck Web.

Fumiko was very happy, she is Becky's owner. We also did a group photo with Goldie, Polo, Cookie, Gina, and Becky, it should be a cute photo. :-)

As I surfed the net, I found some pictures of me and Goldie, candid photos, courtesy of e-inu.com and the Borzois. Also, my friend took photos at Hachinohe, with some nice photos of Eric and Becky! We are preparing for Nagano this weekend, a big FCI, I have yet to win BOB, this is a challenge for me, but it is always big competition for us. :-) I will do my best and win fair and honest!

What a weekend, Saturday I went to Hachinohe and met up with Chisato, showed Eric and Becky. Eric was Reserve King and Becky got her 3rd CC and Excellent in the Group. Then I took Goldie to Sendai, hopped on an airplane and went to the Chubu Union Show and Goldie received Group 1! I'm tired, have to go now, but will write more soon! Here is Eric and me!

Goldie is Group 1st at Tohoku FCI!

The results are in, I took Goldie and Eric for showing. Eric was BOB/CACIB, but we couldn't compete with Group, he wasn't even looked at, though I watched the video my husband took and he showed really well.

As for Goldie, she continued her winning ways and won the Terrier Group Bitch!

That's all for now!

Best in Show - But not with a Scotty!

On Sunday, I met Chisato at Morioka to take the Airedale and Scotty to a show in Sendai. Unfortunately I was going alone as Chisato couldn't join me. So I was prepared to be busy. We were of course the only ones in the breed, and I met Junko there and helped her with the Dachshunds. So we waited most of the day for the groups to start.

First we went in for King, and it was so hot. Eric was a good boy and tried his best to show but he was hot, I kept him in the shade and cooled him off with water while we waited.

We went back in and he first made the cut, then we got the KING!!! Oh, and the CC.

Then I showed Becky, as a 14 month old junior so far she had the one CC from Osaka. Becky was a good girl and is getting better each show and walking better too. She made the cut and got Excellent Group and her 2nd CC.

Then I ran back to get Eric, thanks to Teru Sugahara for watching him and combing him up for me.

We had to go against a Cunningham Dachshund, the judge had us move each dog down and back and then made his decision....IT WAS ERIC!!! He got Best in Show! I ran to call Chisato, but Becky's owner had already called her and told her, Chisato was so happy!

Chisato thanks everyone who loves Eric and supports him! He truly is a excellent specimen of theAiredale Terrier! I was so honored to handle him for Chisato.

I talked to Hiroshi also, Leo, his Wire Fox Got Group 1 at Toyama FCI, which I was happy for, he's a really good dog and loves to show, and he had good results and congratulations to Mr. Hirota with Trigue the English Setter, he got Reserve King!!

Wish us luck in Tohoku!

Weekend Results

Chisato and I drove to Osaka this weekend, 16 HOURS!!!! We got to Osaka around 8 pm and managed to go to Universal Studios Japan and go the city and eat Hard Rock Cafe!

So we started off the weekend with rain, it rained all day Saturday, and we had a dog show. Unfortunately the Airedale (Eric) missed his entry due to a mix up, but Becky made hers. Becky, Polo's daughter from Maguma, Ch. Brotherhood JP Maguma at Strry Sky was BOB and got her first CC by getting Excellent in the Group under judge Shoji Kimura, this was the same judge whom gave Goldie a Best in Show in March.

Te next day, was the Airedale and Goldies turn at the Kinki FCI. First I showed Eric for Chisato, and got BOB/CACIB/MCC. He just needs 2 more tickets to finish. Goldie was BOB and Group 2, we couldn't fight for the Group 1 as her friend Daniel, Ch. Orthopaedic JP The Dignified One took the Male Group 1. Her owner, Mr. and Mrs. Nakamura had a good day with their scots.

Becky will challenge again this coming weekend, wish her luck!

Best in Show #3!!! Tokyo Chofu Rengoten Show!

We enjoyed the Japanese Holiday and Golden Week, and the Aomori Cherry Blossoms (Sakura) are now in bloom and Misawa is finally warm again, the weather has been wonderful here. I traveled Thursday evening after work at about 4 pm to get to Tokyo on Friday (May 5th) for a Dog Show for Goldie. I arrived at 1am, enough time to get some sleep before opening the gates at 6am. It was extremely hot and the parking lot was black top and some dogs didn't like it. Goldie was hot too and I didn't think was showing her best but she pulled through in the breed and winning the Group. She then went on to BEST IN SHOW! Thanks to all her fans and supporters who cheered her on! (Kao, Mr. Hirota, Mao, and the whole Clumber Up Family!) Then we went to dinner and I attempted to drive home but I was too tired. I slept near Fukushima until the sun rose and I continued to arrive home at 10am on Saturday, it was a long trip but well worth it.

Cookie came for the ride, and was happy to see everyone, she even saw her friend Shigeru whom she remembers giving her chicken treats while in the show ring last year. She loves Shige for the treats. :-)

Pictures from Kanto FCI!

Eva is actually growing up nice! Here is Goldie as well!

Kanto FCI Results!

Well, we had another successful weekend, the FCI was Saturday and I showed both Eva in the puppy bitch class and Goldie in Ch. bitch. Both took the BOB's....Eva went on to a Group 1 Terrier Puppy and Best Puppy Queen in Show! Not bad for her first time in as a puppy class entry! Goldie went on to Group 1 Terrier and Reserve Queen in Show!

Chisato and I seperated at Iwama where her friend that keeps her Airedale picked her up and took her to the JATA (Japan Airedale Terrier Association) Specialty where her Airedale bitch won the Best in Specialty Show! Eric showed well up until the rain and then I guess he decided he was done...Chisato called me and told me that Eric would be walking home after his stunt. :-) But she was happy with her bitch winning, and when she came to meet me after the FCI Show, she had this HUGE TROPHY she has to to carry until the next show, where she then has to give it back to the club for the next show. When I say huge, I mean huge, its so heavy it has wheels on the bottom of the box!!! Anyhow, we managed to fit, 2 Airedales, a Wire Fox, and a Scotty into my van on the way home. Eva went home with Hiroshi where she will be given to her new owner, Mrs. Hakamada whom owns Hiroshi's Westy that he shows now. Mrs. Hakamada has been breeding and showing Westies in Japan as well as Scottish Terriers here and there. She was very excited to receive Eva. Eva needed a better home then I could give her at the moment. She is still very puppy and needs more attention. She has a very unique personality, something like her mother and she needs extra attention. Anyhow, Chisato and I managed to make enough room so that we could sleep in the front seats of the car and lean the seats back far enough so we could sleep more comfortably. Needless to say I woke up with sore knees from hitting the steering wheel all night. :-)

The small Ibaraki Show was Sunday but wasn't so successful. Chisato showed Eric, I had no entries so I just helped show Hiroshi's dogs, and I handled Eric in the breed so Chisato could see if there was anything she needed to trim before the group on him. She does an excellent job on him and he's a beautiful boy, unfortunately the judges haven't had the "cohonas" to put him up yet, and he didn't even get an excellent in the group. Unfortunately I think the Airedale maybe has a bad reputation in Japan and the judges never look at them. I told Chisato to keep fighting, but it is tough when you are showing for yourself and paying the expenses, Japan is not cheap!!!

We went out to eat and I had Japanese style pancakes for the first time, it was good but I was so full from Yakisoba that they ordered for me. :-) I drank too much Coke too. We got on the road at 5:30pm and I got home at 12:30, pretty good time, but I'm tired still, I had to go to work today too!

Until next time.....

Preparing for the weekend!

Well, the week has been busy. Over the weekend I visited Chisato in Morioka and we went to dinner at her parents restaurant, it was really good and such a nice place. Thank you Chisato! I took all the dogs and let them exercise at the Naya Court and I think they were happy. We laughed as the scotties took over the run. There was Polo, Cookie, Eva, and Becky and of course we can't forget our favorite Airedale Eric.

I also got pictures of Pete's litter in Washington, Pete is Goldie's Brother whom finished a top 20 scottie at just 9 months old. He lives with Irene Snodgrass. We're hoping something really nice comes from him, him and Goldie were like twins. We'll see....

So, I packed the car today for the Ibaraki FCI Weekend, Goldie will get trimmed tomorrow and Eva will give another stab at the Puppy Class, which will probably be her final puppy show before retiring to growing up. :-)

ENJOY the puppy pic! They are 8 weeks old!

Asia Show memories!

Chisato sent me some photos today from the breed and Groups of the Airedale, but I was most impressed by this photo for other reasons other then the dogs. I came to Japan just a few years ago and jumped into the dog shows head first, not knowing anyone or anybody, and then I look at this photo and it shows everything I strive for as far as dog shows are concerned. I love the feel of this photo, Chisato worked so hard to make Eric look his best, and her work paid off with a very deserving Group 1st, and I was truly happy for her. We traveled to Tokyo together and this moment was special for both of us I think, we were both 1st and 2nd, shaking hands, Eric was looking at both his mama's(I'm kind of a honorary mama), and in the background are the flags and Asia Show letters.

I hope that all my friendships can remain like this one, I'm thankful to have met Chisato and Hiroshi, and everyone in Japan that has supported my love for this sport!

Shikoku FCI was a success!!

I went to Shikoku for the first time for the FCI dog show with Goldie. We were successful with Best of Breed and a Group 2. I helped Hiroshi as his wife was busy taking care of the kids and couldn't come so I helped him handle quite a few dogs and bathed blow dried ect. and was kept very busy. But I had a blast! The results were well for Hiroshi, he was making history with the English Cocker by taking the King Title, and then his Westy was Reserve King with his friend Shigeru handling, and I handled Lucy the Cairn for Reserve Queen after Shigeru won the group with her! I also handled Chester the flat coat to a Group 3 behind the Cocker! I had so much fun with Chester, I miss handling the big dogs so much!

Here are some pics from the weekend!

Asia and Yokohama Shows

Hi! Most that visit this already know the results of Asia, but for those that don't

BOB Dog was CH. McVans The Patriot making his debut and going on to Group 2, owner Nakara, and BOB Bitch was CH. Sweet Basil JP Beatrice later went Group 3, owner Mrs. Watanabe. Congrats to all!

As for this weekend, in Yokohama we took Goldie to a show and she received Group 1 and Reserve Queen in Show so we were happy for her to make up the results after Asia! :-)

Now I'm going to bed. :-)

At a show in Chiba on 26 March Goldie was Best of Breed, then Group 1 and onto a Best Queen and Best in Show finish! Eva was also Group 1 Puppy Bitch and her brother Zeus was Group 2 puppy dog! We had a really wonderful day, I also got Reserve King with a Wire Fox!

My England/Germany Trip Report!

Well, I finally went to Crufts and boy did I have a blast! It was 10 times better then Westminster and I was meeting all my friends from around the world and finally meeting people that I had only had email contact with. It was really wonderful.

First I arrived in Germany to see Martina and Mirko Kuhlmey, my dear friends while there in Germany and breeder of Polo, as well as Claudia from Scotguard, Cookie's breeder. We went shopping and stayed at their home and saw all the wonderful scotties. We then packed up the car and drove to England taking the ferry. Martina was very successful at Crufts winning 2nd in two different classes so this was very good. She is a super bitch, Scotguard Feliz Navidad, "Lizzy".

Then we returned, only to rest and go to an Intl. Show in Offenberg Germany. Martina was winning BOB with her dog from Spain, Benito, and then I showed their young wheaten bitch, Arabella's Eternal Flame, "Momo" for the CACIB so it was a good day, they also won the Junior CAC with her young one Scarlett. I am now packing my things and getting ready for the plane in a few hours to go back to Misawa. :-)

Return from Westminster and Kanagawa FCI result!

Well, I came back from New York very tired, but only had one day to rest and then went on a road trip to Yokohama Japan for the Kanagawa FCI. I picked up Chisato on the way down with the Airedale and Becky, and we were off. I had a good result with the Scotties, we started the day off in the breed ring, where we had a big entry this time of about 10 scotties. I was showing a boy and he got Winners Dog and the MCC card so that was good, and then Goldie won the Breed for the Bitches, and then went on to Group 1 and Reserve Queen BIS! I was so happy, the entry was about 1200 dogs and some good competition! As soon as I get pictures I'll post on here!

Naya Court Visit

Today I visited my friend Chisato in Morioka and to see Polo's daughter Becky and her Airedale Eric. Chisato is working at Naya Court Pet resort and its really beautiful. She has opened a small grooming shop and doing really good. I took Polo and Eva and they roamed with Eric and Becky and had a blast! It was cold but the dogs didn't care, Eva came out a doggy snowball.

Weekend groom

Well, everyone got groomed today, well except Cookie, she had her round last week. Polo's looking good, he's growing in a new coat, I'd love to get him on the show ring again, maybe we'll find a small show at the end of February he can go to. He really misses it I think, I put on the show lead today and he just pulled me through the house, he really enjoys it, always has. Goldie's growing into a new jacket as well, I pulled her down pretty short after the December show so she was still a bit short at Chiba, but no worse then the rest, she still outshows the other dogs so it carries her a lot I think. And little Eva got a trim too, I pulled her coat down to get her ready for the puppy classes. She got her microchip and first rabies shot this past week, she didn't like the vet too much after that little session, she cried and put up a fight. She's a fiesty little girl but I like it. She has a bit more fire then her mother, Cookie. She weighed in at 12.5 lbs at 4 1/2 months so I think she'll be good size. She's going through a growing stage again, but still is holding her topline and head. Her side profile is so pretty, she's got a lovely long muzzle and great head planes, I'm so excited since she's really one of the first blacks from Polo that's been shown so far. We're getting one of his other daughter's ready for the Asia Show, she'll be in the young adult class at just 1 year old so we'll see. My new friend Chisato is getting her groomed up and trained and I'll get to her home since she's about 2 hours south of me and easy to visit. Chisato used to work for Bergit and Gabriel so I was thrilled to have met her. She started a new grooming business since she got back so I've tried to help her a little by building her some good clients with the scots and keep her up on her grooming. She's really such a nice person and has a lovely Airedale from Gabriel that she started showing, once they Japanese judges realize he's a good dog, I think he'll do some winning, they just don't know any better. :-)

Until next time...I'm gearing up for the Westminster, I fly out on the 8th of February so I'm really excited to see everyone!

Dog Show Report 1/21-1/22 FCI Chiba

Well, it was an interesting weekend. We started with the small show on Saturday where we awoke to snow, sleet and rain. It was history for Tokyo and Chiba Japan, they received SNOW!!! It was the first time I have shown a dog in snowy conditions. It was cold, wet, and did mention freezing? But, the scots I was showing, loved the weather, and showed great, go figure.

I showed Eva in the Baby Class, and she received Best Baby Queen in Show and showed and moved so well, wet legs and all. I also showed a Young Adult male, Ringo, whom made my acquaintance and he also showed well for the Group and received an Excellent and the CC card, I believe his first one. The judge was Pat Gellerman of the USA, she really liked both so I was happy.

As for Sunday, the Chiba FCI took place. We managed a BOB/CACIB/Group 2 with Goldie. She showed like a dream and I thought she should have won, but she has a tough competitor, the Wire to contend with, it was her turn this time. The handler is a good friend to me.

When I receive the photos I will post.
