Betsy finishes 2011 as #2 Breed and All Breed

Congratulations Vandra Huber, Ch. McVan's Be Bop Baby was #2 breed and all breed as well as a Top 20 Terrier (unofficial number). SHe finished out with 18 Group 1s, 2 BIS, 7 BISS! Not bad for a part timer!

We had a great year, finishing the year out with 3 Top 5 dogs in my household at different times, to include the wire, Jonjo, and Frankie with the help fo Jeanice Barton in Texas!

We didn't finish as many dogs this year, as we were flying around most of the year, but we managed to finish and show a few westies:

Lila owned by Tom Ward (finished with nearly all majors, only shown in about a total of one months time, including some great wins, our first time out she was WB/BOS over the specials for a 5 point major.

We helped put some GCH points on Bessie, Fred Askins other Westie, along with a few group placements assisted by madeline Aroney, Group 2 and 3 in Virginia.

We assisted in puttng some points on Angus, son of Jenny that I showed, where Madeline took over as his handler this year and got his first major under Frank Sabella, a very special win for all...congrats Jeff and Lori Waite.

We also managed to become new friends with Deb and Ida, owners of "Justin" the Westie. OUr first time out was at the National Dog Show where he garnered Best of Breed and a Group 3 under Mr. Bob Black, and then on to Best of Breed the following day, a great starter weekend, and then ended the year with an Award of Excellence at Eukanuba. The wins pulled Justin into the Top Ten Westies! Congrats!

With the assistance of Hiroshi at Devon, he piloted Jo Hubbs Wire, Ellie to Best of Winners under Terry Stacey for a 5 point major! :)Ellie had previously the weekend before picked up a few points at the Michigan circuit as well, so congrats to Jo!

We also picked up a few Corgis to take care of for Hiroshi and Madeline Aroney singled out Sheeba, while Angie has a few points of her own.

Next year we will continue Betsy's campaign as we can, concentrating on specialties once again. I will be catching up on my overseas travel next year, I've been looking forward to Austria for a while now, those who know me know that its one of my favorite countries! And I look forward to going back to Japan in April! :)

Best in Show #2 for Betsy

We flew to Puerto Rico where Betsy garnered 3 Group 1s and a Best in Show under Kent Delaney, Groups were Marlene Mortera, Jon Cole and David Kirkland.

Betsy kept quiet in October mostly, but we did manage Best of Opposite at Hatboro I, Select Bitch at Hatboro II, and Select Bitch at the National at Montgomery in tough competition. Betsy continues to maintain the #2 position in both breed and all breeds!! And is still a Top 20 Terrier!

A Busy Summer!

So here is a quick wrap up of what has gone on for July and August:

Betsy had a hell of a month of June and July, she won the Rotating weekend specialty, STCC over a field of around 60+ scotties on that Friday, as well as Select Bitch at the rotating and the Great Western Terrier Show. We then went on to win the Dallas Specialty, the Houston Specialty, and most recently the Michigan Specialty, bring her total number of specialties to 7!!! She has over 12 group 1s now, including the Best in SHow and several group placements.

Along the way, we also finished Max's Sister's championship recently, she was Winners Bitch the same day at the STCC California Specialty, this was her debut and got her a 5 point major. She then went on to Winners Bitch/BOW at the Houston Specialty as well as a move up special she went Select Bitch at the Michigan Specialty with my mom piloting her.
I've attached a picture of Maikosan after taking points in Greenville, SC, this gave her another major towards her points.

Jonjo also tagged along at a few shows, the wire fox terrier and accumulated some more breed points to keep him in the Top 5.

We also brought out Super, Specials Wire Super Star who also got a 3 point major and a few singles towards his championship, all in one weekend. He has only bee shown a few times.

So Betsy is now #2 Scottish Terrier, not far behind #1, and #2 in All Breed points, as well as getting her #15 spot Terrier in the country through August 31st. Not bad for a part timer! :)

Since coming back from Kansas we went to Alaska back to Fairbanks where I was born and raised for the 3 day cluster of Tanana Valley Kennel Club where Betsy picked up 3 Group 1s under Edd Bivin, Denny Mounce and Robert Shreve.

We then took a weekend off and then went out to Washington State for the WSSTC Specialty where Clay Coady gave Betsy Best in SPecialty Show Best of Breed!

The following day will be a day I'll never forget! Ch. McVan's Be Bop Baby went on from Best of Breed by Charlotte McGowan, to Group 1 under Charlotte Patterson, and then on to Best in Show under Judge Dana P. Cline at Puyallup Dog Fanciers KC!

On Sunday Betsy again went on to Group 1 under Al Ferrugio making this her 7th consecutive Group 1 win the past 3 weekends out!

Betsy takes on HASTC

Betsy has been doing great since the last update, including a few more Group 1s to her merit, including some big Best of Breeds, a trip to Northern Cal Terrier where she was Best of Breed both days at the Terrier shows including a Group 4! She then went on later to Michigan Terrier where she was Back to Back Group 2s and finished on Sunday with a Group 1. Recently she was Best of Breed in tough competition at Trenton Kennel Club on Sunday and then had a weekend off while Jonjo went to Central States and got an Award of Merit. Then Betsy took on Kansas and the HASTC Specialty where Betsy was BISS and then Back to Back Group 1s with the following Sunflower KC All Breed shows.

Now we are off to Alaska!!!

Just in the past month, Betsy has sored to #2 Scottie in breed rankings and a Top 5 scottie in All Breed! So far her record:

Congrats to Victor, Jerson and Vandra!

Also Ch. Purston's Imperial Prince, Wire Fox has done well, capturing several breed wins and 2 Group 3s over the past few weeks. Congrats to his owner/breeders Michael and Mary Collings.

We've also managed to get 2 majors on our newest class bitch, Ayrshire's Autumn Treasure "Kellie" owned by Cliff and Judy Hewitt. She has also managed a few singles for a total of 8 points so far.

Can't complain we had good results!

The Westie Danny, GCH. Glennhaven's Danny Boy O' Donnybrook received an Award of Merit to the breed winner, who was beautifully presented as well by friend Chrystal Murray of Canada, she works really hard also and was awesome to see her get a Group 4, I was the first to hug her when she got out of the ring. ;)

Also the Wire Jonjo, Ch. Purston Imperial Prince made his WKC debut at just over 2 years old going Best of Opposite in a good field of Wires, congratulations to his owners Michael and Mary Collings.

We will now have fun showing Betsy, Ch. McVan's Be Bop Baby and Jonjo through the year of 2011.

January 2011 recap!

Danny is off to a heck of a start for the year! So far he has collected over 300 All Breed points in just 3 weeks of showing!

Betsy has dominated in the scottie ring starting out with 8 consecutive Best of Breed wins between SC, NY, and Florida! Betsy will be the one to watch in 2011 with me, she's my new scottie special!

her brother Frankie has managed to enter the ring a few times, going BOS to his sister!

Jonjo, the wire started off with two Best of Breed Wins at NY over a nice entry of wires, giving him most of the points he needed for his GCH, he then went to SC where he picked up the last two points going Best of Breed and completed his GCH!

Danny so far has picked up a G2, G3 and G4 for the year, as well as multiple breed wins! Now we are gearing up for the Garden with 4 dogs competing.

December was a whirlwind! Ryoma, now New Ch. Palomas Scalawag Secret Agent finished his championship from the 12-18 Month class at the Turkey Cluster in MD, topped of with WD/BOW/BOB.

We headed off to Long Beach, CA for the Eukanuba Invitational and Eggnog Cluster where we had an awesome time.

Wednesday Results
Wire Fox, Jonjo (Ch. Purston Imperial Prince" was Select Dog
Scotties, Frankie (Ch. McVans Sentimental Journey" was Select Dog out of a nice entry
Westies, Danny was Best of Breed and made the cut in the Group under Peggy Beisel M.

Thursday Results
Wire Fox, Jonjo was Best of Opposite Sex under John Killeen.
Scotties, Frankie was Select Dog under Peter Green.
Westies, Danny was also Best of Breed under Peter Green.

Friday Results
Wire Fox, Jonjo was Best of Breed under Sweden judge Dan Ericcson and made the cut in the group.
Scotties, Frankie showed well (:))
Westies, Danny was Best of Breed and also made the cut under Phyllis Wolfish.

We then went on to show Danny at Eukanuba where he was 2010 Best of Breed! We did not exhibit Frankie and Jonjo, they were not entered or qualified so it was a nice relaxing day.

We then ended the year with awesome results in Winston-Salem, NC.

Danny got Back to Back Group 1s and a Group 2 to the #1 Dog in the US (at the time).

Frankie was Best of Breed all 3 days and also made a cut one day with Gerardo Reyes (Thank you so much for handling him!)

Thanks to judges David Kirkland, M.J. Carberry, and Peggy Beisel for these wonderful wins and what a way to end the year!

Danny finished off as #2 Westie in Breed points and #3 behind his half sister in All Breed! He garnered 8 Group wins this year, 12 Group 2s, 7 Group 3s, and 6 Group 4s for the year, not bad for a part timer, as well as several noted Specialty Best of Breeds! Thanks to all the judges that rewarded Danny this year! And congrats to Fred and Blair!

Lets start with October! Wow what a worldwind that month was.

Montgomery Weekend results

Morris and Essex Kennel Club

Danny was Select Dog to the Best of Breed out of a field of 70 or so westies

Jonjo the Wire was Winners Dog and Best of Winners under Sandra G. Allen

Not much happened in scotties for us on this day.

Hatboro Kennel Club

Jonjo the Wire finished his championship under Richard Powell going Winners Dog and Best of Winners! He finished with 4 majors in 4 shows.

Danny was Best of Breed in Westies under Barbara Hands, Breeder/Judge from England!

Ch. Princescots Prime Suspect "Emma" was Select Bitch out of a nice field of Scotties! Emma is owned by Helen Prince/Geoff Dawson/Anne Frankewich

Devon Dog Show

Danny was Select Dog to the Best of Breed in Westies under Kathy Ferris.

Betsy, McVan's Be Bop Baby was Winners Bitch/Best of Winners under Kathy Ferris, her brother Ch. McVan's Sentimental Journey was Select Dog, Emma was Select Bitch so we had an awesome day in scotties!

Montgomery County kennel Club

Danny received an Award of Merit at Montgomery under Ken McDermott

Jonjo the wire, Ch. Purston Imperial Prince was moved up as a special and went Best of Opposite over some the top specials in the country at just under 2 years old under breeder judge Mari Morrisey.

Betsy again was Winners Bitch/Best of Winners under Richard Powell for the STCA National Specialty.

Ryoma also won the 9-12 month puppy class which was great for him.

We then went on to our Howard county cluster the following weekend where Betsy finished her AKC Ch. going Winners Bitch/Best of Winners under breeder judge Pam Wilson at the DC Specialty. Danny won the breed the two days he was shown, and Emma picked up the breed on Saturday, as well as Best of Opposite the next day, Betsy also received points towards her Grand Champion going select a few days after being moved up. Betsy also won Best in Sweeps under Cairn Breeder Ms. Wilson at the DC Specialty.

Ryoma gained Winners Dog one day for a major, and has worked his way up to needing just 2 single points to finish. We welcome his new co-owner Mr. Kohno to the Ryoma team.

This month in November after a vacation of two weeks, Danny hit the ground running taking a Group 3 and Group 2 at the Virginia Beach cluster in a tough group of terriers.

The following weekend at Eastern Shore Danny also nabbed 2 more Group 2s in a tough group of dogs as well.

This past weekend in Philadelphia where they televise the national dog show, Danny was Best of Breed all the days, a Group 3 on Friday and made the cut for TV on Saturday and made the cut on Sunday as well.

Jonjo was Best of breed both days.

Frankie was Best of Opposite 3 days, Ryoma was Winners Dog for 2 points on two days.

A very successful past few months I should say! :)

Its been a busy summer, so busy I haven't had time to update the blog and who knows when I'll update the website. :):)

June Highlights

Danny and I flew out West to Great Western where he was Best of Breed both days, one of which was a specialty, Fred got to watch so that was awesome, he showed like a champ! :)

July

Danny and I flew up to Alaska for a visit where Danny was Group 2 and 2 Group 1s at the Kenai Kennel Club Shows, also managed to get 2 majors on Joanne's mini poodle. :)

August

Danny and I drove 10 hours to Greenville, SC where Danny picked up back 2 back group ones over a field of 200 or so terriers each day, awesome!!!

Emma, New. Ch. Princescots Prime Suspect, who came to me in the spring for conditioning, picked up both her majors in Greenville, go Best of Opposite one day over the special and BOW.

Then it was off to Canfield, where Danny was Best of Breed the first 3 days under wonderful judges such as Harry O Donohue, Peggy Beisel, and Sally George, all of which were specialties and picked up over 100 breed points for the weekend.

Emma, then went Winners Bitch BOW the first day at Canfield finishing her championship in record time, and then moved up as a special, she went Best of Opposite the next three days over the other special giving her 10 points towards her Grand Champion.

We then took Emma to shows in Ohio where she got back to back Group 4s with Maddie Aroney and Sarah Karger handling. Danny also received a Group 2 at these shows.

Then it was off to Washington State for Danny and me to visit Vandra and see puppies. Danny again went Best of Breed all 3 days a wonderful Group 2 under Elaine Young for another good chunk of 200 or so points. Frankie, my wheaty scottie boy was Best of Breed with Travis the first day and then BOS the next two days to his bitch special Ginger.

Then it was back to NJ for Labor Day where Danny went Best of Breed each day for a few more points.

September Highlights

Went back out to Ohio where Emma got a Group 4 and Group 2 with my Mom's expert handling. Danny was Best of Breed both days.

Massachusetts was the next stop where Emma picked up more Grand Champion points and went Best of Breed on the final day over a field of 3 specials under Mr. Peter Green, an honor!!! Then Danny went on to a Group 2 under Peter Green later in the day!!! An exciting win for me!

This past weekend we went to Butler PA where Emma pulled off a Group 1 with Sarah Karger handling, and then on to BOB and the cut the next day. Danny pulled off the breed the first day and then went on to Group 1 under Lydia Hutchison on Sunday, what a weekend!

phewww....I think I'm done, probably won't hear from me until after Montgomery! Good Luck to all!

Where do we start!

1. NEW Ch. McVan's Sentimental Journey "Frankie" finished his Championship with WD/BOW at the New England Specialty under Mrs. Roz Kramer. Frankie finished with 3 specialty wins. The Frankie flew back to Washington and on June 11/12/13 he was Best of Breed at the Washington Scotty Specialty at 12 months of age first time out as a special and then Group 2 on Saturday and Group 1 on Sunday, handled by Travis L.

2. Danny had 3 BOB wins at the NEW Castle circuit on all three days he showed. Then he also had an awesome weekend at Skyline Kennel Club going Group 4 and Group 3 in a field of tough comepetition.

3. Paloma Scalawag Secret Agent went WD/BOW under Karen Wilson for his first major from 6-9 months!! He also got a Puppy Group 2 at New Castle and then a Puppy Group 1 at the Wrightstown shows.

4. Carlos the Pom finished his championship with a major at New Castle going WD/BOW and then at Virginia got his first GC points going Select.

5. Our new class male, Alvin the Pom his 2nd time out went Winners Dog for a 3 point major in Virginia!!

Well, we had a great past few weeks!

Jenny, NEW Ch. Charthill's Worldly Ayre finished her Championship in style with Best of Breed all three days at the Massachusetts cluster, the first two days going BOB/BOW/WB over the special for 3 point majors and then Best of Breed Sunday as a move up!

Carlos the Pom went WD/BOB for a point on Friday and RWD on Sunday, Saturday the competition ran away! :)

Danny the Westie was Best of Breed on Sunday!

At the Dayton Scottish Terrier Club Specialty Jenny won the Open Bitch class, Polo won the Veteran class at 9 years of age, and Bob, Ch. Afterglows Beameups Captain Hook got the Award of Merit!

We've been busy and are now off to Houston for the scottie national!

Well March so far as been both busy and fulfilling for us!

Ch. Glennhaven's Danny Boy O' Donnybrook was Best of Breed under Judge Mr. Clay Coady at the Valley of the Sun WHWTC in Arizona in conjunction with the national Rotating specialty for the Westies!

At the National he was also Award of Merit under Seymour Weiss.

This past weekend in York, Danny was showing 3 of the 5 shows, of which he was Best of Breed all 3 days, with a G3 under Polly Smith, G2 under Robert Smith and G4 under Alice Watkins.

Thanks to all that supported him through the rotating for those that knew we had obstacles to overcome!!!

Charthill's Worldly Ayre (Scotty) - Jenny, who I got the first 5 points on, singled out this past weekend in York with Geoff Dawson and will now come back for me to get her majors! She was Best of Breed 3 out of the 4 days, one day over a special!

Our newest addition, Carlos the Pomeranian, Latin Lover was Resever Winners Dog all 3 days that he showed in York as well!

Now we have a break, and then gearing up for the Scottish Terrier club of Greater Dayton Specialty!

Ch. Land Rose R. JP Dear Mrs. had a clean sweep in the breed ring, winning Best of Breed all three days she was shown!

And Ch. Glenhaven's Danny Boy O' Donnybrook was Best of Breed on Sunday and a Group 2! We had some good competition and it was a good weekend.

We flew to Glen Rose, Texas this past weekend on a mission to finish the Wire Fox, Sally!

Sally is now NEW CH. Purston Society Girl, owned by Michael Collings, myself, and Sandi Hughes. She finished with Winners Bitch/Best of Winners and Best of Breed, and also making a cut in the group, handled by Klayton Harris.

Danny was also shown, the westie, and was Best of breed, cut in the group on saturday, as well as Best of Breed on Sunday and a Group 3!!!

Ch. Glenhaven's Danny Boy O" Donnybrook the Westie owned by Fred Askin and Blair Miran took a Group 1 at the Furniture City Kennel Club on Saturday under Westie Breeder/Judge Barbara Keenan, Best of Breed was Charlotte McGowan.

On Sunday, Danny went Group 2 under Charlotte McGowan, BOB was Barbara Keenan.

Ch. Glenhaven's Danny Boy O' Donnybrook winning Group 3 at the Maryland Circuit after Montgomery at Catonsville KC. This was a tough group of Terriers this weekend! Congrats Fred Askin and Blair Miran.

This was also a good weekend for Baardrian's Rumor Has it, co-owned by Lisa Inman and Petre Debeer in California as she went Winners Bitch and Best of Winners for a 3 point major. Rumor is pictured up top, a black brindle bitch. :)

Ch. Land Rose R. JP Dear Mrs also received an Award of Merit at the Washington DC Scotty Specialty, there was a large group of bitch specials so this was a nice honor winning to the rotating national winner. Congrats Mrs. Itoya!

Danny the Westie was 1st AOM at Hatboro on Thursday, 2nd AOM on Friday, Down to the final 2 males going for Best of Breed at Devon and made the cut at Montgomery!

Sally the Wire fox, my class bitch coowned with Michael Collins and Sandi Hughes was Winners Bitch for a major on Thursday and Winners Bitch at the national on Sunday at Montgomery for another major!!!

Dolce made the cut at Hatboro Friday and showed wonderful all the other days.

Chipper and Bridget were Best Junior Handler at Montgomery Sunday!

Sarge, the class scotty also placed consistently in the open class, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, 2nd!

Busy Busy Summer

Chipper has been busy since finishing his championship, he has consistently placed with bridget Ratcliffe in juniors, including a Best Junior Handler over 30 to 40 juniors from Open Intermediate at Salem, VA shows in August. She has since then moved to Open Senior where she has consistently won and placed with him. She is currently #2 Terrier Junior in the country with a combined effort of her Smooth Fox Splash and Wire Chipper, and is #2 Wire Junior, but creeping up fast to catch the other junior hoping to be #1.

Best of Breed - Western Washington Terrier Club - August 2009

We had some tough competition at this show and Danny went Best of Breed on Friday, thanks to everyone who complimented and supported him through the weekend!

Danny was also Best of Breed on Saturday at Salem, Virginia Cluster over a nice entry of Westies!

Dolce has been taking a break getting ready for the fall shows, she was garnered several Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Awards on the East over the summer! Congrats Mrs. Itoya!

The Doberman has accumulated several points over the summer, and received a major Reserve at Harrrisburg up against some tough competition! He will travel with Jesse Sutton and hopefully pick up some nice wins, thanks Jesse and Roxanne! Owner Beverly Casey

Ch. Afterglows Beameups Captain Hook, Scottish Terrier is also available for stud for a short time. He is a Ch. Perhaps Sugardaddy grandson, and father is line bred french import that Vandra Huber imported last year, also Am. Chipper flew with me to Houston on my Houston Club Scottie Sweeps judging assignment where it was possible for there to be majors available. Chipper pulled off Winners Dog on Saturday to finish his championship and then on to show as a special for his first time on Sunday. He showed the best he's shown, and even through a spar! :) We are very excited!

Thanks to everyone that supported him, now he will go on to be a junior dog with his new co-owner, Bridget Ratcliffe, here in Maryland.

Sweeps was so much fun, thank you Houston Club for inviting me, I do appreciate it!!!

Bob finished his championship this past weekend at the Virginia Cluster, taking a WD/BOW/BOS at the Virginia Terrier Club supported entry for a 3 point major and then taking a 3 point major on Saturday at the All Breed WD/BOW/BOS finishing his championship witha few points to spare. Bob finished quickly, taking his first 5 point major at the Dayton specialty and then pickign up a few points in Charlottesville and Bryn Mawr Kennel Clubs, so he was only shown in 4 weekends to finish. He is out of Ch. Book Maker De Champernoune owned and co-owned by Killanbrae scotties in Washington and Vandra Huber, and the dam is Ch. Afterglows Hellz Bellz and he was bred by Lisa Inman in CA. He is a Marko (Ch. Perhaps Sugardaddy) grandson.

Bob will be available for stud if anyone in the East in interested in new bloodlines. He is a Marko grandson. Structurely he is very sound, beautiful neck and shoulder, in the picture, what you see is what you get, moderately short backed, clean movement coming and going and wonderful side gate, plenty of front and rear and good body. He is only 13 months old so he needs to mature, but he loved the show ring, and even got upset when I didn't show him on Sunday. haha

BEST OF BREED was CH. Land Rose R. JP Dear Mrs, (Dolce) owned by Mrs. Itoya for the scotties also on Friday, congrats Dolce!!!

Just got the news, not all the details yet, but Sam, AKC/CAN Ch. Smash JP Alaskan Dream was Best in Show in Canada, along with a bunch of Group 1s and 2s in there to match. He also achieved his Canadian Championship in one weekend!!!!

Sam is co-owned with Joanne Langseth and Sherri Walsh, handled by Joanne...go Joanne!!!

So we have some catching up to do since our last update in May...hmmm...lets see whats happening!

Danny has been on a good role, he's won 3 Best of Breed's his last 2 weekends out, including a Group 1 under Judge Lydia Hutchison at the Charlottesville KC, VA shows, thank you!!!
Danny is currently ranked #6 in Westie Breed Points, according to canine chronicle system!

Danny and his Junior Blair were also 1st in Novice Junior, Blair just needs one more win to advance to Open, she was 2nd on Sunday.

Ch. Land Rose R. JP Dear Mrs has also had a good run, taking Best of Breed all three days in VA Memorial Day weekend, and also Best of Breed Sunday at Charlottesville. Thank you Blair for your assistance to me at the shows with Dolce and Danny!

Also, our latest venture is the Doberman "Gunther" owned by Beverly Casey. He's a 13 month old male and has done very well since debuting with me in April at the Timonium Shows. So far he has garnered a Best in Sweeps, consecutive 12-18 month class wins, Winners Dog/BOW at Charlottesville, and Reserve Winners Dog Charlottesville.

Bob, our 5 point major winner at the rotating weekend, has also done well. We showed him at Charlottesville, his first time out since rotating and he got back to back WD/BOW for 4 more points, he needs just 6 points and a major to finish.

We are off to Bryn Mawr this weekend, home of the Devon Shows, and then on to Bel Alton, MD the following weekend.

I am open to take class Scotties if anyone is interested, I can condition in my home or I can take ringsides.

Beameups Afterglows Captain Hook (Bob) was 1st in his class each day and Reserve Winners Dog on Sunday....of course there were only 2 dogs, but it was a nice time for him and he had fun in the 9-12 mo class.

Me and my Dad at the Grand Canyon!! It was freezing!!!

Seems to be the running joke these days, to clear up some rumors here is my life story for the past month.

I did some soul searching and decided that the best decision for my future is to continue my field of work that I was pursuing while in the military and the past years as a contractor, and that is Computers. So I am awaiting word on a job, and not sure where that job will take me, could be Texas, could be East Coast Maryland area. But for now, I AM IN ARIZONA WITH MOMMY!!!! I will stay here for the holidays and keep them company.

As for results, we had a very successful month of October, Dolce, NEW AKC Ch. Land Rose R JP Dear Mrs, finished her championship in just 3 short weeks with a Group 1 to add!!! She got 2 more majors while we were in Maryland, a 3 and 4 point major and then several Best of Breeds, over specials and class dogs in Oklahoma and Texas. Congratulations Mrs. Itoya her owner! Dolce is taking a break at the moment to come into new coat and will hopefully be back in the ring as a special in January or February.

Chipper, the Wire Fox Terrier came back with a vengeous as well, picking up several Best of Breeds, one over specials, and also 2 Group 2's!!! Congrats to his breeders Chisato and Hiroshi!

Also, Chisato informed me that Ch. Land Rose R JP All Right is now an International Champion at just 2 years of age, go Max!!!!

I am looking forward to Eukanuba so for any of my friends, both local and abroad (especially my Japan friends) I can't wait to see you! Look for me and my sister (Mom)!! LOL

Here's a breakdown of the last few days:

Land Rose R. JP Dear Mrs. handled by Hiroshi Tsuyuki was Winners Bitch and Best of Winners at Hatboro Kennel Club for a 5 point major! She has placed in the class each day, and was 3rd in the Open Class at Devon.

CK Terra's Get Up and Go was Reserve Winners Dog at Devon for the wires, and has also placed 2nd each day and at sweeps.

And in Japan, Max was Best of Breed, Group 1 and Reserve King at the Saitama FCI Int. Dog Show! He is now undefeatedly for FCI shows and has 4 Group 1s and 4 Reserve King's in a row!!! Judges were from Mexico.

Woohoo!! Oh, and judging Sweepstakes was a blast, thanks for everyone that came and supported me!

As most of you know I'm getting ready to leave Japan and embark on a new journey to Aubrey, Texas, about an hour north of Dallas. They packed up my house this week and shipped off the van, should be there in a few months. I'm gearing up for my first "Huge" assignment as being selected to judge the 2008 STCA National Puppy Sweepstakes, which is a huge honor for me. I'm excited and can't wait to see the puppies, I hope I get a wonderful selection, puppies are so much fun.

As for the past month or so, we've been relaxing, soon I will have just two dogs with me, so will stay some will go, can't take them all. Keyshia the Akita is doing well with Bergit and Hans in California and she went to some shows this weekend so we'll see.

Chipper is doing wonderful after his leg was broken in April, he has fully recovered after his vet in Towada University did a wonderful job pinning him together, you would never know he broke it.

As for Dolce, she's doing wonderful and gearing up for shows this weekend as well, we will go to our last show this coming weekend in the Fuji area, Asaguri shows.

Max is doing wonderful and will stay with Chisato after I leave to embark on his international title, he needs just one ticket after October. Then we have some surprises planned with him later. ;) Thanks Chisato!

Even thought we had a 7.2 magnitude earthquake just short before the show, the scots persevered with Group placements.

Dolce was Group 2 for the females and Kinari was Group 2 for the males his second time out and his second CC card. Dolce is a Champion already so she didn't need the card.

Congratulations to his owners, Mrs. Nakahara informed me yetserday that Baltic finished his championship with a Group 2, a few weeks ago he also got a Group 2.

I am excited as he is my first home-bred champion in Japan! ;) Cookie and Polo are the proud parents.

We had good results, Max was Group 2nd out of a tough Terrier Group, and his little sister Dolce was Best of Breed and Group 1st over a very tough Terrier Group as well. Congrats to her owner, who was there and very happy with the result!!! Chipper was also Best of Winners for the Wire Fox Terriers! And Keyshia just had a wonderful time being an Akita, she got to see her brothers and had a good time playing with everyone.

This past weekend at Kanagawa FCI , we had good results. We got Best Puppy in Show with a Cookie x Polo Grandaughter, a stunning bitch bred by Mr. and Mrs. Nakahara.

Quiet at the household

Well, I haven't been showing in Japan for this month, but we did manage to have some success in the US, my wheaty girl that I coown with my mom and Irene D. in Washington has 12 points to her championship already thanks to Travis L who is handling her.

Max is getting his rest and hopefully will be a daddy later on in the next few months, Cookie is being my couch potato and Chipper is becoming a hairy mess that i need to groom. We have shows in February and I will be in New York for Westminster for anyone that will be there, look for me.

I'm also enjoying the newest addition to my family, Keyshia, an American Akita. She is 4 months old and so sweet. She has started training and is kind of a brat, but we're getting there.

Goldie, AKC/JKC Int. Ch. Beameups Solid Gold, flew to the AKC/Eukanuba 2007 Invitational Dog Show in Long Beach California!!!

On Friday at the Long Beach Kennel Club, she was BEST OF BREED over top scottish terriers!!

And at the invitational she was: Award of Excellence and CRUFTS qualified, 1 of 2 given out! Best of Breed was Ch. Roundtown Mercedes of Maryscot "Sadie", a beautiful black bitch who went on to Group 3!!

So it was well worth the trip, and very successfull, I had a blast and had fun seeing all of my friends from the US!

Max wins his first Best in Show in Japan!!

This past weekend, Max, JKC/AKC Ch. Land Rose R. JP All Right, was Best of Breed, Group 1st, and Best in Show at the FCI KitaKyushu International Dog Show!!! He showed like a dream and I couldn't have asked for more!!! The day prior he received Group 2nd.

Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Nakahara for letting me have this wonderful boy, I have no regrets, he's a dream come true!

The results are in, Max went to shows this past weekend and finished his Championship!

January 07 - Osaka Club Show - BOB/Reserve King(CC)
October 07 - Okayama FCI Dog Show - BOB/CACIB/MCC Group 1st/Reserve King
November 07 - Utsunomiya Club Show - BOB/Group 2nd (CC)
November 07 - Chiba FCI Dog Show - BOB/CACIB/MCC Group 2nd

Max finished his Championship with 2 Group 2nds over groups of large Terriers!!! His rival Leo the Wire, won Best in Show two days in a row, so I was very happy for Hiroshi! I showed Leo and he received the Best of Breed.

Also, my wire pup, CK Terra's Get up and Go (Chipper), his first time out received Reserve Puppy King at the Utsunomiya Dog Show and on the FCI, received Group 2! I was happy with his performance the first time out. When I get the pictures scanned in, I'll post.

Hi, Max had a wonderful time in Philadelphia, he is a young dog, only 18 months and his final time in puppy ring, he was 2007 STCA Best Puppy in Sweepstakes or a very large entry of pups, his 12-18 month class alone was 16 dogs!

He also made the cut of the final 5 males at the National Specialty so I was very pleased at such recoginition!!! Max is now back in Japan with his AKC Championship title added, he will start competing very soon.

Wish us luck!!! I'm also gearing up to show my new little Wire Pup from Chisato, Chipper, CK's Get Up and Go!!! :-) He's such a fun dog and I'm learning so much about him.

Sam has both majors and Back to Back Group 1s

First time showing in USA AKC Dog Shows and Sam at 9 months of age took best of breed 3 days, and back to back Group Firsts!!! He got both 5 point majors and needs just 5 points to finish, congratulations to his new owner Joanne Langseth, we will co-own with her and Sheri Walsh. As soon as I get the photos I will post them.

Sam went out in style, winning Best Puppy in Show on Sunday and Reserve King on Saturday, this was his last entry as a puppy before going to USA, what a way to retire the puppy ring!

Jesse, Polo's daughter owned by the Inman's finished her AKC Championship in Idaho this past week which now makes Polo eligible for his Registry of Merit (ROM)!

Sam was Group 2 and Excellent Group this past weekend as well.

Max is a Champion!

Been busy, but Max got his championship two weeks ago.

ALSO, My Poodle, Sam's breeder, was BEST IN SHOW - WORLD WINNER DOG SHOW 2007 in MEXICO CITY!!!! Talked to Toshi yesterday and he's thrilled, Smash is worldwide and he's got some of the nicest poodles in the world and he's one of the nicest guys you'll meet. I travel to shows and stay with them a lot, and they've taught me so much about the poodles.

Sam is doing well, he's been shown in a few puppy classes and getting his feet under him. He's such a showy boy!

Keep you posted, Mom is here in Japan and will be visiting for the summer to help, we took Goldie to the vet, and she definitely has puppies, she's due in a few days.

I'm off to Tokyo, Shibuya for a show this weekend, big surprise debut, I won't say for whom or what dog, you'll have to wait and see!

Max was Winners Dog/Best of Winners/and Best of Opposite for 3 days in Louisiana last weekend!

Cookie is doing well, she's got one screaming black baby girl out of Ch. McVan's The Patriot. :-)

Sam will make his debut in the Puppy Class this weekend and hopefully we can get Eric the Airedale his Int. Championship this weekend.

Thanks to Martina and Mirko Kuhlmey, Polo's breeders, Polo is now KFT and VDH Champion, Austria Champion and International Champion!!!!! yey!!!!

He was Best of Breed and made the Group Cut in Austria today at the FCI Int. Show on Sunday!
His other wins are multiple CACIB and RCACIB, Best of Opposites to his friend Worldwinner Lizzy!!!

Goldie ended her career with a bang with her owners, Mr. and Mrs. Nakamura standing by.

Goldie on Saturday, 31 March started out as Best of Breed and Group 1st, Breed Judge Mr. David Merriam and Group Judge Mr. Shoji Kimura.

On Sunday, April 1st, she finished off with Reserve Queen out of over a 2600 dog entry!

Goldie is now officially retired and is to be bred to Ch. Perhaps Sugardaddy the Montgomery STCA National Best of Breed winner, if anyone is interested in this future litter of pups, let me know asap, the puppies will under my care and observation and placement. I'm looking for serious show homes.

Now, I'm waiting on puppies from my other bitch, Scotguard Cookie who has been bred to Asian Winner AKC/JKC Ch. McVans the Patriot, they are due April 12th. So far we are showing 5 pups to be born if all goes well, we're praying as this pregnancy has been really stressful on Cookie. At first she had an infection, but the vet was able to clear it out and save the remaining 5 fetuses, I hope that they are born healthy and happy.

Keep you posted, now we just have the poodle sam, who for all those that know about his little "accident", he is doing fine and will return to the show ring at the end of April.

What a cutie this guy is turning out to be, he's been a lot of fun, now he's just 4 1/2 months, I'm washing nearly twice a week and trimming, he makes his debut in baby class on Saturday in Chubu.

I am so happy for my friends here in Japan. Hiroshi, my friend and mentor won Best of Opposite Sex with AKC/JKC Ch. Kathrich Santeric Windfall, Leo at Westminster Kennel Club in New York, Toshi Omura went and was able to see his wonderful bitch Vikki handled by Hiroshi's cousin Kaz Hosaka to Best of Breed and Group 1st, Vikki's half brother also won Best of Opposite with Martin Gregory handling. And then, Chie Ejima, a good friend, judge, and handler, also won Best of Breed as owner/breeder/and handler with her Papillon! It was truly a wonderful day for Japan! Congratulations to all, I wish I could have been there to see Vikki, I knew Kaz could do it! One day I'll show a dog there, but I'll wait until its a dog that can win!!!! :-)

And we brought back some scottie things! Otaru is well known for their glass and music boxes, well we went to the Otaru Orgel Museum, and low and behold we found Scottish Terrier items. Here are some photos, Kelvin and I took a tour and we had a blast, hopefully we'll have some pictures of the ice sculptures, our camera went on the fritz so our friend is supposed to sent his pictures, I have some on my phone but no way to get them off.

We have a new addition...and yes, we've gone crazy!!!

Okay, don't laugh, I was involved in poodles when I was younger, most don't know that I used to handle Standards for my dear friend Joanne Langseth and had a pretty good run with one her blacks named Cole. So let me introduce you to "Sam", Smash JP Alaskan Dream, he was born October 22, 2007 and what a little dream he is. He is from one of the best kennels in the world and from my good friend Toshi Omura of Smash Poodles. Toshi was one of the first people I met when I came to Japan and opened his arms and help to me, so I've always supported him and his dogs. It was really an honor for him to trust me with one of his poodles, and Joanne and I will co-own him together, he will reside with Joanne in Alaska so she can kick some butt with him up there. We are hoping that he can go to PCA, he'll be in 6-9 months puppy dog. His nickname is "Smash" to all his Japan friends!

Everything with the scots is going well, we didn't show Max last weekend due to conflict of interest, Goldie was Excellent Group the first day after deciding she didn't like the space heaters, and on Sunday she was BOB and Group 1st under Judge Mr. Sugahara, whom used to work for Peter Green and Bergit long ago, he's been a wonderful friend and support and just started his judging career last year after a huge retirement party, already he's judged in Europe at some big shows and having a blast.
